SALVATION IS NOT FREE
"Salvation is not free"
I turned sharply to look at her.
" What?" She asked looking at me like she had made an amazing sentence.
She looked at me with a look on her face that says "why are you surprised? It's true"
"What did you say?" I asked Stella
" Salvation is not free, everyone keeps saying salvation, is free, salvation is free, salvation is free, y'all keep blabbing about it. But, truth is, salvation is not free" she said boldly
How can she confidently utter trash? I asked myself
"Salvation is not free?" I asked, I was still extremely confused.
How? Why? What in the world made her think all these?
"Salvation is not free."
"So, how much did you pay for your salvation?" I asked her
She laughed out " I expected this question"
Sitting down comfortably, she cleared her throat and spoke " I didn't pay in cash, I didn't pay with money, but I paid"
" How?" I asked
" With my life, I surrendered my life to his will in exchange for salvation"
I chuckled
" What's funny?"
" You paid for salvation with your life?" I asked her
" Yes" she nodded
I laughed " I'm really sorry, but, excuse me, Stella, what in the world is so interested about your life that it's worth the same value as salvation?"
Her smile faded slowly ... I chuckled when I saw the change in her expression
"You paid for salvation, with your life??" I chuckled dryly "you don't even have a life without Christ!"
" He took mine and gave me his." She argued
" Okay... Let's think this way, let's assume you had an earpiece, one that is completely bad, none of their ears are working, not even a sound. Even when you fix it into your phone, it doesn't show the earpiece sign….” I raised my brow to make sure was following and she nodded.
I smiled and continued “Now, Jesus came to you and told you, give me this your earpiece and I'll give you a new phone, the latest phone, thousands of quality earpiece, a hundred ear pods, a very good television, the best sound system, different makes of headset, different colour of headphones, good memory cards, and any other thing you ask for"
Stella stared at me, listening carefully to my illustration.
"You give him you spoilt earpiece, and he gives you everything he promised, and he also gives you anything you asked for, he even gives you more than whatever you ask for, and you are never in need, cause even before you ask, he attends to your needs, Can you still say that you paid for all these? You paid? For the latest phone with your spoilt earpiece? You paid for a crate of egg with a worn out rubber band? You paid for a bottle of yogurt with a rough sheet of paper?"
She stared at me hard. I could see she was thinking about it.
I smiled at her
"You didn't pay for anything Stella, he gave it all to you and to me for free. He took your life and gave you his. We didn’t deserve it, he did it because he loved us" I stood up
" Salvation is free" I said
" Salvation is free" she repeated and smiled " Thank you Jesus"
Nice illustration. The fact is, even your spoilt earpiece you think is yours, isn't actually yours. He gave it to you and you spoilt it. And now you he exchanging it with even better features and qualities! That Man na O.G
